Brawl Stars Gamemodes Guide

Brawl Stars Gamemodes Guide “Showdown

El Primo

  1. El Primo is a go to for many many game modes, especially on showdown. With only 2 boosts, it becomes very hard to kill with so much HP and it’s Attack becomes even more ridiculous. Pretty much guaranteed spot in the top 5 if played correctly.

Nita

  1. Nita is a great option for Showdown purely because Big Baby Bear becomes stronger along with Nita when boosted. It starts to become a huge force when it can leave a Big Baby Bear in front while firing off Rupture attacks from behind.

Poco

  1. Poco is an absolute beast. It barely misses and does huge damage as well as its self healing effect. There’s not much need to explain why this Brawler does well as it starts to get the snowball effect with boosts.
  2. More Damage = More Super = More Health = Lasts Longer = Win

Bull

  1. Bull’s ability to take down a crate in 3 shots is brilliant. It matches the strength of El Primo with its hard hitting double barrel shotgun and raging bull charge.
  2. This paired with great Health and it’s instantly a threat that can land you in a high rank when played well.

Shelly

  1. Shelly is the number one El Primo counter and actually gets pretty bulky with a few boosts. If any El Primo somehow get in your zone, her Super can instantly push him back and wreck with her primary attack. From personal experience, Shelly is the best pick for consistent Showdown wins.

Heist

Barley

  1. Barley is a great option for offensive play and defensive play for its ability to throw its bottles of poisonous destruction over walls and leave the lasting damage on the safe.
  2. As well as this, it can play nicely on defense, making it hard to get into the zone for the safe without taking chip damage before getting cleaned off.

Bull

  1. Bull is one of the best options because of its ability to charge through walls. Anything that can break walls does well in this gamemode because as soon as the wall in front of the safe goes down, it’s pretty much game over letting any El Primo charge through and hit it with some fiery fists.
  2. Another positive is on Defense it can break down the walls making channels on the side, allowing a more open field for long rangers like Colt to open fire on them.

Dynamike

  1. This is one of the only modes where you’ll really see this explosive miner used well. The ability to through AOE damage over walls at the safe is a great help to it as well as the fact that his Super can blow the wall in front open for El Primo too.
  2. On defense it is quite useful, being able to hide behind the wall in front of the safe and throw his bombs at approaching attackers. Unfortunately, when that wall goes down on defense, this Brawler is much less useful.

El Primo

  1. Yes, this Brawler is good at pretty much everything. Its ability to jump half the map and blow open the wall in front of the safe while damaging it then fire off some fierce punches is completely broken.
  2. On defense, it can go completely mad charging up the field and with nice coverage from walls can cut out some ranged threats.

Poco

  1. A solid defensive option in this game mode for its spread damage stopping big groups of offensive Brawlers like El Primo being just out of range of its fists.
  2. Healing other Defenders in tight situations is very helpful and glass cannons like Brock get really hurt by his deadly riff.

Colt

  1. Colt has amazing range and the ability to take down the wall on offense. His damage output is spectacular for his range allowing a fast charge on his Super.
  2. On defense, it can open up the field for itself with his Super, letting it go to town on approaching El Primo. Once it breaks the wall, it doesn’t take a genius to just spam his long range blasts at the safe.

Honorable mentions:

Nita

Brock

Smash & Grab

El Primo

  1. Surprised? Of course not. This thing is a monster with its HP and ability to hit hard. To be able to charge into the center me grab a couple of crystals and leave to regenerate without dying is brilliant and can truly carry a team with ranged support from a Brawler like Jessie.
  2. With his huge Super, it can either jump in and clutch a match with a huge Flying Elbow Drop or escape a desperate situation with its Crystals, jumping all the way back home.

Jessie

  1. Jessie is quite underrated in this gamemode, her turrets and range give her a nice option for raged damage on opposing El Primo. She gives nice support on allied El Primo, allowing him to 1 on 1 another and win with ease.
  2. Her primary attack does respectable damage and if it lands can bounce and deal more, however you do have to predict the movement of opponents to land it when they’re further away. Just try not to be the one holding the crystals though.

Poco

  1. They say there is safety in numbers, but not when this guy is around. He practically never misses and can pull a game back during countdown with its huge spread damage and healing on allied Brawlers and itself, allowing it to stay alive that little bit longer holding onto its crystals.
  2. A perfect supporting brawler for the likes of El Primo.

Colt

  1. This thing is the closest you’ll get to an answer to El Primo. It has great range and great damage along with opening the field up and hitting opponents hard with its Super. Being able to stay out of the action and get supporting fire in from the edge of the mine is useful for Bull.
  2. The speed at which Colt’s bullets travel is also great because evading them is much more difficult than it is with Jessie.

Mortis

  1. I can’t say a lot about Mortis from the point of somebody who has used him but from the point of view of somebody facing it, he is a nightmare. He is so fast and hard to hit that he can move in and out of the mine without taking much damage at all.
  2. It can skip to either side of opponents, evading fire, while also damaging it. It has a nice ranged spread damage Super to complement its melee primary attack. Just a solid all round option.

Nita

  1. Nita is always a good option, being able to set up a Big Baby Bear to get up in your face and scare you away from the mine. While it’s bear does that, it can hold onto crystals safely behind a wall of fluff.
  2. It’s ranged damage allows it to support behind the bear while it charges through, pushing opponents back and letting the team collect crystals.

Honorable mentions:

Brock

Ricochet

Shelly

Bounty

El Primo

  1. Yes, a clean sweep. Every gamemode, a true all-rounder. Same story again, it hurts so much with a four-hit-flurry and can jump into groups low health rangers like Brock, Jessie and Colt with its hurtful Super follows up with a knuckle sandwich, claiming 3 points of Bounty straight away.
  2. High Health allows it to hold onto his Bounty for longer without letting anyone take it from his muscular grasp. Never a bad choice to bring El Primo.

Poco

  1. Poco is able to pick up so many kills at once with its attacks that it claims a lot of bounty, it’s only worry is its 800 Health and limited ability to hold onto Bounty.
  2. This issue is semi-solved by its Super healing itself and others. It should always go into the center behind a bulkier Bralwer like El Primo or Bull to maximize its usefulness.

Bull

  1. Bull is a substitute El Primo, with similar short range attacks and cross-map Super attacks. It can charge through rangers with considerable speed, making it harder to dodge than El Primo, followed up with a few rounds from a double barreled shotgun and it picks up some nice kills.

Jessie

  1. Once again, an underrated Brawler. Good damage output combined with large areas of long grass to hide turrets in gives it the ability to provide support for big hitters like Bull and El Primo.
  2. So long as you don’t allow opposing El Primo and Bull get in your face so that they can reach you, Jessie beats them 1 on 1.
  3. So long as she stays off most of the Bounty and keeps herself alive as long as possible, it’s a pretty good option.

Barley

  1. Barley is a lower tier pick for this mode than some of the others listed, but the ability to spread its toxic mess across the center field and force close-range attackers out is a role nothing else can fill.
  2. The Super attack covers the field with burning mess and chips away at El Primo and Bull allowing them to be taken on by your allied El Primo and Bull.

Colt

  1. Colt does well by staying out of the field taking shots and cleaning off opponents that can’t reach it. It opens the field up with its barraging Super attack allowing El Primo and Bull more space to move around.
  2. It can pickup a nice sum of Bounty given time but should steer clear of most of the action because of its Health.

Honorable mentions:

Brock

Mortis
