Arena of Valor Beginner’s Guide Hi Guys jabu69 here and today I will Talk about Arena of Valor Beginner’s Guide This Arena of Valor Beginner’s Guide mainly focuses on my experience in this game with over 3k games and how I personally took steps to get better. It may not work for you, but this is MY WAY to git gud and hope it helps. This is is how I believe a path to TRUE skill should look like. It’s not about getting to conq or masters, it’s about being truly good at this game. The path is DIFFICULT, painful, and has nothing FUN involved. It’s about getting real gud So Come and take a look at this Arena of Valor Beginner’s Guide

Step 0) Adopt a good attitude (REMEMBER THIS FOREVER)

  1. LOOK AT THE FILTHY MINIMAP
  2. DON’T FLAME
  3. IT’S ALWAYS YOUR FAULT IF YOU LOSE THE GAME
  4. WINNING OR LOSING / WINRATE DOESN’T MATTER
  5. EVERY TIME YOU DIE / LOSE ASK YOURSELF WHAT YOU COULD HAVE DONE BETTER
  6. ANALYZE YOUR REPLAYS
  7. ASK FOR COACHING
  8. DON’T BLAME YOUR TEAMMATES WHEN YOU SUCK
  9. DON’T BLAME YOUR TEAMMATES WHEN YOU SUCK
  10. DON’T BLAME YOUR TEAMMATES WHEN YOU SUCK
  11. LEARN FROM BETTER PEOPLE
  12. DON’T TILT
  13. BE SWEATY AND TRY HARD EVERY GAME TO GET GOOD, EVERY GAME IS WINNABLE
  14. BE POSITIVE
  15. DON’T BE A META SHEEP (JUST BECAUSE PEOPLE SAY X IS GOOD OR YOUR BUILD IS BAD DOESN’T MEAN IT’S BAD, CHINESE/TAIWAN/KOREAN PROBABLY KNOWS BETTER)

Step 1) Familiarize yourself with all the heroes (100-200 casuals for knowledge of 10-20 heroes)

So you should do this in several ways. One is playing every free hero in a bot game or casual to get the feel. Second is to test every hero in trial mode.

Third is play abyssal clash a lot. Once you have decided on 2-3 main heroes, then go to step 2. Ideally your mains should be high tier if you want to git gud faster.

Oh yeah, play carries and not tanks cuz tanks/supports are easy to learn if you can play carries.LOOK AT THE FILTHY MINIMAP

Step 2) Don’t waste your gold on heroes. (200 games for 1 arcana set)

Spend gems on double gold boost and buy two arcana sets. These two sets should be based on the MAIN heroes you chose in step 1. Feel free to refer to my tier list and arcana guide below to figure out what to pick / buy. My proposal is buy an 100 armor pen set and then a generic CD/spell vamp AP set, that will let you play 90% of the heroes at a very good level.LOOK AT THE FILTHY MINIMAP

Step 3) Don’t play ranked

Why waste time losing stars? Familiarize yourself with the game first, then stomp your way to diamond. If you want to get to diamond, you only need to learn one hero really well. At diamond, you’ll need 2-3 roles. So just play a lot of casuals with your MAINS and learn them inside out.

Of course, get to gold for your season rewards and always push a bit near the end of the season but NO POINT IN PLAYING RAGE RANKED. LOOK AT THE FILTHY MINIMAP

Step 4) LEARNING HEROES (100-200 games on one hero to master almost fully)

Learn heroes/your mains by watching people play them. Learn their niche arcana and item builds. Look at the top leaderboards and see what people are building on your heroes.

Some people to watch:

  1. shawn
  2. vex
  3. yue:
  4. gary
  5. bubucha

Step 5) PLAY ABYSSAL CLASH TO LEARN TEAM FIGHT (500-1000 games)

Do this while you do step 4. Why abyssal clash?

  1. Teaches you the lost art of team fighting.
  2. Teaches you how to engage, disengage, dive backline
  3. Teaches you to assess the team fight situation through mini map and enemy cds so you know WHAT TO DO
  4. Teaches you every hero in the game and its cds real quick
  5. Teaches you how to play every hero properly (i can never dive backline as an assassin!”)
  6. Teaches you to watch minimap
  7. Teaches you power spikes
  8. Teaches you how to outplay 1v2, 1v3, 1v5
  9. It’s more fun than casuals and less stressful, games go by quick

Repeating abyssal clash over and over will make you stick to good habits real quick. IT’S REALLY HARD to be good at abyssal, but if you’re good at abyssal, you’re good at teamfighting for sure.

STEP 6) Get to masters (100-200 games)

By this point, you should be cruising in ranked. When you reach a moment where you feel like you’re stuck, go back and diagnose your weaknesses, then repeat some of the previous steps. Make a recording using the in-game tool and ask a high elo player to analyze LOOK AT THE FILTHY MINIMAP

STEP 7) COMPETITIVE? (the rest of your life)

Once you reach high diamond / masters with a comfortable winrate, if you want to get any higher without playing the numbers game (i.e. 50.1% winrate), start looking for custom lobbies or playing 5v5s. Watch a lot of pro games to emulate their style. You should also have multiple arcana sets by now and a super deep champion pool.

The reason for playing in a competitive setting is because it teaches you to be even more aggressive at the game. People will be better than you and can teach you to be better. Once you work on these good habits then you can crush ranked once again. LOOK AT THE FILTHY MINIMAP

STEP 8) Meme people

If you’ve reached this step, congrats, you are good at this game. You understand how this game works and know a lot of heroes inside out. You’re not that average player who has 55% win rate with 3k games.

Outplay scrubs in ranked and feel good doing that LOOK AT THE FILTHY MINIMAP

My story to conq: I played 100 games of casual. I played 200 games of abyssal. Then I played 70 games of ranked and got to diamond with yorn and veera. I realized yorn and veera suck in diamond. I played another 800 games of abyssal.

I started playing violet, batman, alice, tulen. Got to masters in 100 games. Played in amateur team and customs with random guildies a lot. Got my ass whooped many times. Watched a lot of pro league. Got to conq. Still suck at game but less.
